I will be diving into their SEO to help them amplify their mission and ensure their innovations reach their target audience.

Exciting things are happening, and I’ll walk you through how it’s done - from keyword research to content optimization and everything in between. So, let’s dive into a week in the life of a cleantech marketer:

‘Week in the Life of a Cleantech Marketer’

Monday: Having a closer look

Kicked off my week by diving into our client’s website 🚀. First impressions? A sleek and forward-thinking tech solutions provider in the energy sector making them smarter, safer, and more reliable.

But here’s the real challenge: how do we ensure that their target audience finds this game-changer online?

First Move: Keyword Research. Let’s see where they’re ranking already, what they’re missing, and how they stack up against competitors. At the same time, I’ll look through the content, what's landing, and what’s not?

Hopped on SEMrush and uncovered some powerful keywords. Quickly added these high intent words because their tech fits the bill perfectly.

 

Also spent an embarrassing amount of time on Answer the Public looking at what people are asking about this client’s high priority areas:

“How can AI software improve operational reliability in the energy sector?

“What are common operational challenges in energy companies?”

Mental note: These will be gold for future blogs and FAQs. Created an “SEO Hit List” of priority terms.

Tuesday: Keyword Decoding

Got some data? Check. Next up - nailing keyword research. The plan? Targeting long-tail keywords that hit the sweet spot - low competition, super relevant. 

Think terms like "AI solutions for improving grid reliability" or "Automated fault detection systems for utilities." These are gold because they’re specific, and anyone searching them is likely already looking for what our client offers.

To take it up a notch, I localized the strategy with some keyword analysis to uncover search terms that are high intent with lesser keyword difficulty.

By sprinkling in geo-specific phrases which are high intent keywords, we make it more relatable to the regional audience.

 Next Steps: Start weaving these keywords into both existing content and upcoming blog posts to position our client as a leader in the European energy market.

Wednesday: Content Optimization

Today’s mission? Transform existing content into a powerful SEO engine without compromising the natural flow of their message.

First up, keyword integration: My aim is to tell their cohesive story that resonates with readers while meeting search intent. My focus is on weaving in keywords that mirrors our client’s solution which also seamlessly can be integrated into service descriptions, blog posts, and case studies.

Let’s look for an existing content piece 🔎

Found their ‘case study’ page that offers an excellent foundation, and we can take it to the next level by optimizing it with high-intent long-tail keywords for SEO.

Suggestion 1: Rephrase the main heading to integrate a high intent keywords to align with popular searches

The current heading missed incorporating the high-intent keywords we identified. Next step? Integrate those gems here! Our revised version retains the essence of the original message but supercharges it with SEO optimized keywords, ensuring it drives both engagement and search rankings.

Why?

Keyword integration in headers is a small but powerful optimization that can significantly boost your page's relevance, discoverability, and user engagement.

Suggestion 2: Break bigger paras

Breaking paragraphs into shorter, more digestible sentences improves readability, which signals to search engines like Google that your content is valuable and easy to navigate, particularly on mobile devices.

This enhances user experience, reduces bounce rates, and ultimately boosts your SEO performance!

Thursday: Visual & Link Optimization

Blogs need visuals to grab attention, so I sourced high-quality, royalty-free images and gave them a makeover with search engine friendly alt texts. No more generic tags loafing around and doing nothing:) 

Every detail is optimized to drive traffic and make sure our client gets all the attention!

For internal links, I connected blogs to core site pages like “Our Technology” and “About Us.” Also curated credible external links to reinforce authority like research studies and industry news, the more popular they are, the better!

Friday: Technical Tune-Up

I gave the page titles, meta descriptions, and URLs a full audit and a fresh update to make them clean, clickable, and super engaging. It’s a deep dive, but totally worth the grind. 

For example, I revamped the title and meta to make sure they’re spot on with the content and catch people’s attention. The whole point? Fine tuning every little detail to boost clicks, traffic, and get the results we're aiming for.

Saturday: Analytics Check

Checked Google Search Console to track keyword performance. It’s early days, but I’m already seeing some traction, our keywords are starting to gain impressions. 🎉

I dug into the data, identified which keywords are bringing in clicks, and took note of underperforming terms. Based on this, I updated the content strategy to focus more on high-performing keywords and tweak pages that need a little extra SEO love.

Planning next move: refine meta descriptions and optimize titles to better capture search intent and boost CTRs.

Also, aiming to target some of the emerging long-tail keywords that are starting to show promise! Time to keep the momentum going 🚀

So, We've Optimized Our SEO locally - But What About the Rest of the World?

Expanding the strategy globally, I also took a deep dive into top 20 competitors, analyzing high volume, high-intent keywords with less competition.

This global lens gives us a sneak peek into the market’s pulse and uncovers new opportunities.

As I continue refining global search strategies, I plan to address gaps competitors often leave, like a lack of interactive content, downloadable resources, and real-world case studies.

By focusing on high-intent informational keywords and capitalizing on intent mismatches, I can create pillar content and thought-leadership pieces that offer real value.

Additionally, tailoring campaigns to specific countries, considering regional trends and keyword behavior, will ensure maximum impact and target untapped opportunities for growth in each market.
